Sassy J & Deon Jamar All Night Long
Saturday December 17, 2022 | 23:59 - Till End | Globus at Tresor, Berlin
Before we close it down and look towards 2023, let's meet one more time for a last dance. For our fifth and final installment, we can't wait to take over Globus at Tresor again with none other than Sassy J — making her J.A.W debut for the occasion — and Detroit native, Deon Jamar for another all night long treat until the early morning.
Sassy J is a DJ, sonic journey curator and handcrafting artist based in Bern, Switzerland. Her colorful sound is informed by her simple and honest love of music and emotion. She runs her own Patchwork party, creates the art for each party, and has a passion for sewing one-off pieces that link different textures and styles in compelling ways, much like the way she mixes records. Throughout her twenty years in the music scene she has focused on forward thinking electronic and organic sounds, and has been a consistently exciting artist, earning a reputation amongst esteemed artists and music lovers that appreciate her unhurried style.
Deon Jamar is a Detroit native whose roots stem from the crates of family. Growing up hearing many different styles of music in the household is the inspiration behind his range of selection. Inspired by everything from jazz, funk, & soul, to more modern black dance music forms like hip-hop/r&b, house, techno, & brokenbeat. His career in Detroit began in 2015 as resident DJ & organizer for the monthly hip-hop showcase "Bluecollar Gentleman". At the same time Deon worked with Theo Parrish for some time, helping out with the promo of the Music Gallery party series and more recently got involved in the making of the "Detroit Forward" compilation via !K7 Records and released by Theo himself. Spending years consuming & working in Detroit's underground would help inform his own more dancefloor, community oriented event, "Healin' Session" as well as the immersive music and art experience, "Black Music".
