Our spring series continues and we are thrilled to finally welcome at J.A.W the greatest to ever do it aka Guitar Hero Jeff Parker with his ETA IVtet project next month in Berlin.

Guitarist Jeff Parker’s mantra could be his saying “clear sound overcomes genre boundaries.” Parker’s been a member of the Chicago Free Jazz initiative AACM, a regular collaborator of Trumpeter Rob Mazurek and a guitarist with Makaya McCraven or the Postrock-Band Tortoise. He already had multiple strings in his bow before starting as a project leader himself. In his three self-named albums, he’s developed a genre-melting signature sound fusing J Dilla-inspired Hip Hop beats and the 70s Soul Jazz sound. 2020 saw him producing his LP Suite For Max Brown in a newly formed partnership between International Anthem and Nonesuch Records, followed by his acclaimed solo debut Forfolks in 2021.

After releasing his latest record ‘Mondays at The Enfield Tennis Academy’ in late 2022, Parker and his quartet are now taking it for the first time on the road. The album was recorded live at the ETA (referencing David Foster Wallace), a bar in LA’s Highland Park neighborhood with just enough space in the back for Parker, drummer Jay Bellerose, bassist Anna Butterss and alto saxophonist Josh Johnson to convene in extraordinarily depthful and exploratory music making. This is Jeff Parker's first double as well as first live album ever released, we can’t wait to experience it live on stage.
